BUSINESS LEADERSHIP

Robert Rosenkranz is the Chief Executive Officer of Delphi Financial Group, an insurance holding company with assets of over $14 billion. Mr Rosenkranz founded Delphi in 1987 and has been the driving force behind Delphi’s growth and development culminating in the sale to Tokio Marine in 2012.

Mr. Rosenkranz is also the principal of the Acorn family of investment partnerships. He founded Acorn as a multi-manager, multi-strategy investment program 30 years ago. Acorn and other of Mr. Rosenkranz’s affiliates manage assets exceeding $1 billion, invested in a broadly diversified global mix of hedge funds and proprietary strategies.

A graduate of Yale University (A.B. summa cum laude 1962) and the Harvard Law School (Doctor of Jurisprudence 1965), he was a tax lawyer with the New York law firm of Cahill, Gordon & Reindel and an economist with The RAND Corporation, where he was engaged in research on foreign policy issues and municipal finance. In 1969, he joined Oppenheimer & Co., where he was a General Partner when he left to form Rosenkranz & Company in 1978. He founded Delphi Financial Group, Inc. in 1987 to acquire Reliance Standard Life Insurance Company in a leveraged buyout. Delphi Financial Group had its initial public offering in 1990.
